What a rise doesn't change

  • Bonus conditions. In a month the conditions aren’t met, most bonus accounts pay only their base rate, often under 1%.
  • Intro rates. A bank can move its ongoing rate and leave its intro rate where it is, or close the offer.
  • Term deposits already open. Their rate is fixed until they mature.
  • Fixed-rate home loans. Their rate holds until the fixed term ends. New fixed rates follow lenders’ funding costs on their own clock, so they aren’t counted here.

Data
Each bank's and lender's Consumer Data Right (Open Banking) product feed, read every night. A reading is recorded when the published rate differs from the last one stored, so a move is dated the day it first showed in the feed.
What counts
A move in the Board's direction between the announcement (2:30pm AEST) and 16 June 2026, 6 weeks on. Savers: each account's first-tier rate with any bonus. Borrowers: the advertised variable rate for a new owner-occupier at 80% of the property's value, paying principal and interest. Our own corrections are never a move.
